Announcement from the Elders

Thank you for your generosity and faithfulness in giving over the last 20 years we’ve been on this campus.  We moved to Cross Point on December 18, 2005, owing $5.2 million with three completed buildings and 44 acres. Along the way we’ve added (and paid for) our Student Center, Friendship Center, pavilions, concession stands and sports fields and continued to meet our annual budget and serve our community and beyond for the cause of Christ.

The only debt that Cross Point has from the construction of all the buildings on our campus is a 5-year note with a balance of approximately $750,000. The interest rate on this note resets once every five years, and the next reset date is in January 2026. Our current monthly payment is about $8,500.

The Admin Team recommended to the elders that Cross Point pay down the balance of this note by at least $300,000 in January 2026, and we have agreed to this. The church will still have appropriate cash reserves on hand for the size of our annual operating budget. We will continue to make the $8,500 monthly payment for the next five years, which will leave a balance on the note of approximately $101,000 in five years.

However, we would like to pay off the note more quickly if possible because once this monthly payment is gone this will free up resources to support our ministries. Therefore, we are asking you to pray and consider if you feel called to make a one-time contribution (over your regular contribution - we still need to meet our regular budget!) before December 31, 2025 to apply to the note balance. 100% of your designated contribution will be used to reduce the principal of the note. We are praying that your contributions, when added to the $300,000 payment from our cash reserves, will allow us to be debt-free in no more than three years.

Contributions for this purpose should be designated as “Note payoff” and handed to Kay Akin, Mark Killen or Greg Carnes.  Thank you for considering this opportunity. We are very grateful for the excellent stewardship that is shown by our Admin Team, and we are so thankful for the generosity of our members.
